Flubber Ball Bounce Sequence 2

Another ball sequence, i tweaked the impact part and gave the ball a more convincing launch. It still has a rubber look to it but overall i prefer this, I want to try and add a greater height to it.

Flubber Ball Bounce Sequence

This is my first proper ball bounce sequence (which im proud of). First things first., i feel the ball's impact to the ground is too squashed so i may have to go back and ease up on the stretch. Secondly, i feel like the ball has a heavy bottom, meaning the top half of the ball acts like jelly whilst the bottom half acts more like stone (particularly in the drop). But when played back, the ball's character has a cartoon look to it (which i like) but i don't want this to domineer the fact that we are focusing on the actual bounce.

Computer Generated Ball Bounce 2

The main ppoint of this sequence for me is to show when the ball shifts in shape at the peek of coming back down from it's bounce. For this i caputred one frame then (most probably by mistake, but worked) i doubled pressed again after a few frames.

Another ball bounce practice, the begining is a bit blocked, but the final bounce is what i want.

Computer generated ball bounce rough 2

I made the ball linger more in the air, then stretch as it flies down to repeat bounce.

Computer generated ball bounce rough animatic

We were told that a good way to understand what you want your character (in this case, a ball) to do; is to have a storyboard/animatic so the essential key frames are understood and can be put into the computer. I used Adobe Flash for this so i can see what i want the ball to move like, and give it a "cute" persona. I feel the ball in this animatic is too squashed, i need to give it mass, so i shall experiment more with the weight of the ball and there needs to be more of sudden drop due to its weight controlling its bounce.
